Built so your Reddit account stays safe

Reddit bans accounts that spam links or post the same message across many subreddits. KarmaGuy is built to avoid those patterns, starting with the fact that a human posts every single reply.

How does it work?

1. KarmaGuy writes draft replies for the posts you select, but it never sends anything to Reddit on its own.
2. You read each draft, edit it if you want, then copy it and paste it into the thread yourself.
3. You control if and when your product gets mentioned. Turn the mention toggle on, and drafts only mention your project when the post’s topic actually fits it.
4. Turn on “Skip NSFW” in your settings, and KarmaGuy leaves NSFW subreddits and posts out of your search results entirely.
5. There is no scheduler and no queue of posts waiting to go out while you are away. Every reply needs you at the keyboard.

Why does it matter?

Reddit’s own rules on self-promotion warn against posting the same pitch across many subreddits. They also warn against posting more about your product than you contribute to the community. Our guide to Reddit’s self-promotion rules covers the details.

Automated posting is the fastest way to get an account flagged or banned. A human reading, editing, and pasting each reply means no reply goes out that you have not seen first. That is the core safety idea behind KarmaGuy. It is why the app has no “post now” button.

The mention toggle exists for the same reason. Most good Reddit replies should help first and mention a product only when it truly answers the question. Our guide to Reddit marketing without getting banned walks through more of this thinking.

Skipping NSFW subreddits and posts also keeps your account clear of content that has nothing to do with your product.

What are the limits?

KarmaGuy cannot guarantee Reddit will never flag or ban an account. Reddit sets its own rules and can change them. A subreddit’s mods can also remove a post or reply for reasons that have nothing to do with KarmaGuy.

Safety still depends on you. A helpful draft can turn spammy if you paste the same mention into ten threads in one afternoon. Read each draft and use it the way it was written: mostly helpful, with a mention only where it fits.

The “Skip NSFW” setting relies on Reddit’s own subreddit and post labels. It can miss a post that Reddit has not marked correctly.

Direct posting from your own Reddit account, through your Reddit login, is coming soon. Even then, KarmaGuy will show you the draft first. It will wait for your approval before it posts a single reply.
